HD3 Farms on Friday signed an agreement with Smithfield Foods to become once again become an independent pork producer.

Smithfield is seeking to shed the number of hogs it directly owns before its Chinese parent company, WH Group, seeks to list Smithfield on a US stock exchange. WH Group is seeking to maintain a majority ownership of Smithfield.</span></span></div></div>
