Update: Trade sources Wednesday reported an undisclosed volume of Durum Wheat was bought by Algeria\'s state grain buyer today. Some trade sources indicate four Panamax size cargoes were purchased. Initial reports say prices were around $340/mt cf for Panamax size cargoes, and around $350-$352/mt cf for Handymax size cargoes. The predominant origin is said to be Canadian durum wheat along with some US and Aussie durum purchased. The grain is for shipment between Mar 1 and Apr 30. Algeria last purchased durum back on Nov 21st, paying $348/mt for Panamax, and $360/mt cf for Handysize.
